Doug Hammetter, President of Creative Store Design, presented Jim McConnell, Director of Buying and Merchandising at Goodwill NCW, with a check covering the cost of installation of three automated external defibrillator (AED) units at area Goodwill Retail Stores and Training Centers.

An AED is a device used to identify ventricular fibrillation in a victim of sudden cardiac arrest and automatically deliver an electric shock to the heart. The shock essentially disrupts a lethal heart rhythm and allows the heart to restart naturally with a normal, healthy rhythm.  Rapid defibrillation is the single most important factor affecting survival from sudden cardiac arrest in adults.

"This gift is incredible, Creative Store Design's commitment to this endeavor is wonderful," stated McConnell.

"Goodwill's commitment to the community is reflected in this campaign.  We are excited to partner with Goodwill on this life-saving project," commented Hammetter.  (Click here to read a letter of support for Goodwill from Creative Store Design President Doug Hammetter.)
