Community Outreach Program

Barron County Restorative Justice

The School Community Outreach Program is a voluntary early intervention program that addresses attendance and other concerns that are barriers to student success. Students, families and schools work together to develop a strengths-based plan to support accountability, student engagement, behavioral and academic improvement.

The goal of the program is to reduce the impact of social, emotional and economic barriers to student success by using evidence-based, restorative practices. These services are available in the schools during the school day or other times by appointment. Students and families are referred to the School Community Outreach Program by school personnel, the courts, parents or by self-referral. Participation is voluntary, and there is no fee for this program. Participants in the School Community Outreach Program are served individually; they may agree to attend group sessions on specific topics when available.
