Store Manager (Store Team Leader)
As a Store Manager (Store Team Leader) at Goodwill NCW, you will lead efforts to advance our mission of Elevating People by Eliminating Barriers to Employment. With support from the Regional Team Leader, you will manage retail operations to ensure sales, production and organizational goals are met. Key Responsibilities:
- Process & Performance Management: Lead store processes including sales, budgeting, expense control, payroll, safety and team member retention and development.
- Operational Excellence: Manage daily store activities such as opening and closing procedures. Prioritize and delegate tasks while recognizing opportunities for Lean process improvements.
- Leadership: Oversee assistant managers in production and customer service, ensuring that all team members are meeting standards. Develop high-performing teams through effective mentoring, training and recruitment.
- Talent Development: Lead recruitment efforts, interview candidates and build a high-performing team. Support training programs to ensure team members’ growth and development.
- Communication: Foster effective communication with other leaders, program participants, community partners and customers to maintain Goodwill NCW’s reputation.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of retail management, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Skills: Exceptional organizational, time management and people management skills.
- Mindset: Action and results-oriented with an own the business mentality, strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Assistant Store Manager (Production Team Leader or Customer Experience Team Leader)
As a leader (Production Team Leader or Customer Experience Team Leader) you will execute standard operating procedures to achieve organizational goals. You will be responsible for ensuring the proper flow of product and production processes, demonstrating excellent oversight of all donations and creating a positive customer experience.
The Assistant Store Manager (Production Team Leader) leads and supports the operational efficiency of the store’s backroom processes. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that product flow is seamless from the intake of donations to sales, while also fostering an environment of growth and accountability for the production team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process & Performance Management: Provide leadership and coaching to team members and individuals with different abilities working in the production area.
- Operational Excellence: Ensures good stewardship of all donations through proper handling and processing of incoming product flow. Utilizes financial reports to drive results and achieve production goals.
- Leadership: Lead the recruitment and onboarding of production team members to ensure alignment with Goodwill NCW’s mission and values. Maintain a neat, clean and organized product processing and storage area, ensuring safety and compliance with company policy.
- Talent Development: Oversee team members’ development through training, coaching and accountability. Support the execution of SMART goals and action plans.
- Communication: Continuously seek process improvement opportunities and engage team members for feedback on production flow. Effectively manage change within the production area through clear communication and leadership.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of retail management, ideally in a production environment.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work hands-on in a physically demanding production setting.

Under the guidance of the Store Manager and Assistant Managers, you will lead and coach team members while managing store processes. This role focuses on the oversight of donations, ensuring a high-quality customer experience for shoppers. As a Shift Leader, you will execute standard operating procedures, maintain operational efficiency, and support the achievement of store metrics. You will serve as a positive role model and mentor, ensuring alignment with Goodwill NCW’s mission, vision, and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process & Performance Management: Provide leadership support to the team, assisting other leaders with overseeing overall operations.
- Operational Excellence: Help the store meet goals by maintaining a neat, clean, and organized environment, upholding safety standards, and adhering to company policies.
- Leadership: Lead by example, maintaining a high level of productivity across various store activities.
- Talent Development: Guide and mentor team members by assisting with training and developing skills, serving as an onboarding trainer for customer experience and production processes in collaboration with other leaders.
- Communication: Maintain a consistent presence throughout the store, engaging with both team members and customers to ensure a positive experience. Communicate effectively with the store leadership team and team members, promoting a clear and consistent flow of information across the store and escalating concerns as needed.
