Your purchases and donations stay local and support individuals served by Goodwill NCW as they build job skills to sustain employment and improve their financial stability.
Every purchase provides pathways. Goodwill NCW reinvests an average of 90 cents of every dollar in store sales back into the mission to provide life-changing impact to individuals with barriers to employment.
Every donation builds job skills. The average donation creates nearly three hours of job training through Goodwill NCW mission programs to empower individuals to reach their fullest potential.
Every partnership creates opportunities. Goodwill NCW partners with more than 120 nonprofits across north central Wisconsin to transform lives through the power of work.

Meet Emma
Emma participated in Goodwill NCW’s School-to-Work program at the Lake Hallie Goodwill store. It was her first job experience, and she had to overcome being very shy. Her goals were to gain confidence and develop a good work ethic to take her into adulthood.
The program helped Emma achieve her goals. After graduating from high school, Emma worked several jobs outside of Goodwill NCW. The skills and confidence she gained from her experience at Goodwill NCW allowed her to excel at those jobs, and she became a leader at several retailers.
When she moved back to the Chippewa Valley in 2023, she knew that a job with Goodwill NCW would be the perfect fit for her. She has recently elevated to a Shift Leader and then to a Customer Experience Team Leader.
“Her path is limitless, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for her,” Emma’s store leader said.
Meet Jesse
Jesse struggled to sustain employment, but wanted to honor his father’s belief that it is important to continue to work throughout life. He sought out Goodwill NCW’s inclusive environment and was hired as a part-time team member at the La Crosse Goodwill store.
Jesse was eager to learn. After gaining confidence, he trained in various roles and elevated to a full-time position. As he was training, Jesse experienced health issues that prevented him from maintaining a full-time schedule, but his leaders worked with him to find the right fit. He now helps with maintenance in all areas of the store, including making sure supplies are stocked.
His leaders say he lives Goodwill NCW’s values and is very generous with other team members, giving rides to work and sharing meals when he sees a need.
