I find myself inspired by the many shows and other media outlets about organizing your space and bringing peace to your home by decluttering. There are endless glass containers, baskets, metal baskets and other creative ways to contain and organize my home at my local Goodwill NCW store.
Step 1:
Start by looking around your house to figure out where you want to tidy things up. It could be your messy closet, a cluttered kitchen or a disorganized bathroom. Once you’ve picked your spot, take out anything you no longer use or need. If you have stuff that’s expired toss it, if you find items you haven’t used in a while, it’s time to say goodbye to it. [Put it in a bag to donate to Goodwill NCW!]
Step 2:
Now that you’ve sorted out your items, think about how you want to organize and display them. You can use glass containers for storing jewelry, cotton balls, makeup and more. Baskets are great for keeping towels, socks, belts or scarves neat and tidy. And those metal containers work well for organizing kitchen utensils, office supplies and lots of other things.
Step 3:
Take a trip to your nearby Goodwill NCW and look for various items to help with your organization. It’s like a treasure hunt! Get creative and have fun exploring what they have. Check out the glassware section for vintage glass candy dishes, trays and other glass containers. You can also count on finding various baskets and metal containers to fit your organizing needs.
Step 4:
Once you’re back home, it’s time to get organized! Use your new goodies from Goodwill to put everything in its place and create a more orderly and peaceful space.
Decluttering and organizing your entire home all at once can be overwhelming. I’ve found it’s helpful to focus on one small area at a time, like a closet or a part of your home, and tackle it one day a week or one day a month. This way, you’ll gradually transform your living space into a clutter-free and serene sanctuary.
