The Power of You & Goodwill NCW in Our Communities

When you donate
you’re not just giving away a backpack, you’re equipping a student for a brighter year.
The average donation creates about three hours of job training through Goodwill NCW Employment Services.

When you shop secondhand
you’re not just buying a backpack, you’re preparing for a year of possibilities, adventures, and achievements.
On average, 90 cents of every dollar in sales is reinvested back into our mission of Elevating People by Eliminating Barriers to Employment.
When you donate and shop, it means you’re powering possibilities for individuals with employment barriers in the Fox Valley and Bay Area.

Meet Jazlyn
Jazlyn came to Goodwill NCW with a goal of strengthening her social skills and building confidence in navigating everyday interactions. She successfully completed courses in self-presentation, attitude, dependability, decision-making, motivation, self-advocacy, social interactions, stress management, time management, conflict resolution, customer service, organizational skills, and team building. She also earned digital badges in Customer Service and Team Building by successfully passing course assessments.
Throughout her journey, Jazlyn demonstrated a strong commitment to growth. She advocated for herself, took detailed notes, asked thoughtful questions, and actively applied what she learned to real-life situations. One of her proudest accomplishments was standing up for herself and setting a personal boundary – something she previously felt uncomfortable doing.
Reflecting on her experience, Jazlyn shared, “Thank you for your lessons that gave me something to look forward to, like a sunrise after a long winter.” She also expressed gratitude for the sense of belonging, hope, and new problem-solving strategies she gained through the program.

Meet Donny
Through Goodwill’s School-to-Work program, Donny gained valuable hands-on experience at the Green Bay East store, where he received job coaching, workplace skills training, and support from store leadership in a real-world work environment. During his time in the program, Donny developed strong skills in stocking merchandise, following store procedures, communicating with team members, and problem-solving on the job.
Beyond building work skills, Donny’s greatest growth has been in his confidence and independence. He has learned to advocate for himself, make informed decisions, and take ownership of his responsibilities. Today, he makes meaningful contributions to daily store operations, demonstrates strong time management and task completion skills, and is working toward long-term employment success. Motivated by his future goals, Donny is now saving money in hopes to one day purchase a home for himself and his family.
