Get ready to swing into action as opening day for 2023 season of Goodwill NCW’s three Miracle League programs – Miracle League of the Fox Valley, Miracle League of the Lakeshore and Miracle League of the Chippewa Valley – is here.

Miracle League offers children and teens with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball in an organized, non-competitive league on a safe, accessible baseball field. The league is all about enhancing players’ social skills, building self-esteem, and being treated just like other kids.

The season is eight weeks long, beginning in June. Throughout the season, players ages four to 19 are paired with community volunteers who assist and encourage them during the games. Community volunteers are include pitchers, umpires, announcers, coaches and team helpers all are a vital part of the 2023 season.

Miracle League of the Fox Valley

Opening day is Monday, June 5 for Miracle League of the Fox Valley, the Miracle League of the Fox Valley is entering its 13th season. Games are played at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the John Wollner Fox Cities Miracle Field at Memorial Park, 1620 E. Witzke Blvd., Appleton. This year the Miracle League of the Fox Valley is comprised of 226 players and more than 325 volunteers.

Miracle League of the Lakeshore

The Miracle League of the Lakeshore’s opening day is Monday, June 5 and is entering its 9th season. Games are played at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Goodwill Miracle Field of Dreams at Miracles Park, 1840 S. 35th St., Manitowoc. There are more than 78 players and 110 volunteers that are part of the program this season.

The Miracle League of the Lakeshore also offers an All-Star League for individuals over age 19 with intellectual and physical disabilities. The All-Star League plays on Wednesday nights at 7 pm. This will be the fifth season of this league.

Miracle League of the Chippewa Valley

Opening day is Monday, June 12, the Miracle League of the Chippewa Valley is entering its 7th season. Games are played at 5:45 and 7 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Miracle Field at Jeffers Road Park, 5710 Jeffers Road, Eau Claire. With an optional All-Star game will be played on Aug. 13. More than one hundred seventy-five players and 265 volunteers are part of the program this season.
