On a recent thrift trip to Goodwill, I scored my new favorite graphic T-shirt. It’s a 2014 Country USA festival tee. If you’re local to the Fox Valley, you may recognize the large camping and concert event.
So, how did I end up finding this fun throwback? Well, I explored the men’s clothing section of my local Goodwill. It’s easy to get into a thrift shopping routine and stick to your regular racks. But it can be very worth exploring other sections. I like to check out the men’s section anytime I’m looking for flannels, oversized hoodies and graphic T-shirts.
In case you also score a band tee, vintage tee or graphic tee on your next thrift trip, I’ve created four looks that you can try.
Look 1: Cute and casual
For this look, I tied my T-shirt up in the front and put on a black denim skirt. I added a hat and earrings to accessorize. Depending on your style, you may ditch the hat or you could swap it for a baseball cap. For shoes, I went with my white tennies, but I can see this outfit looking great with short booties.
Look 2: Cool cinch
This look is all about structure. On top, I have my loose graphic T-shirt. On the bottom, I have my boxy black pants. In the middle, I have a bow belt that cinches my waist and literally ties the look together. To recreate this look, you’ll need a pair of high-waisted/wide-legged pants. Don’t forget a belt or a scarf to use as a belt.
Who knew that a $4 graphic T-shirt could inspire so many outfits? Happy exploring on your next Goodwill thrifting adventure!
