Mark began his time at Goodwill through the DVR program in July 2021 and was later hired as a team member in September. Mark is a skilled tradesmen, who spent years in welding, agriculture and other trades. Unfortunately, he lost his eyesight from a welding incident a few years back. When Mark started with Goodwill, he needed a job coach to help us assess what accommodations he would need to be proficient at his job. During this 3-week partnership, Goodwill was able to make some adjustments for Mark and he has become proficient. By learning how to use a walking stick, memorizing the path to the breakroom, the bathroom and his workstation, he has become an inspiration to others, to show what is truly possible.
