The Neenah Goodwill has become home to James, who was working at Goodwill NCW’s Shiner Center when the senior program he was with ended. Neenah hired him on as a team member rather than having him go through a program. “I like it here because people are nice,” James said. “I get my job done and somedays get more done than expected.” Because of the inclusive environment of the backroom production area, James, who is 75, uses a walker and has mobility issues, was welcomed in to do ticketing with a work station designed just for him. James is friendly, kind and shares joy everywhere he goes, said Rebecca Thuot, Neenah Store Team Leader. He started as a part-time team member and now works full time. He holds himself to the same expectations as others, and his work ethic shows that. “I’m going to work until I can’t any more,” James said. “I enjoy being here.”
