• Thrifted pillows
• Yarn or twine
• Scissors
• Thumb tacks

Find Your Pillow

Your local Goodwill NCW has a ton of pillows to choose from, at super affordable prices. Make sure to grab a pillow filled with stuffing and not feathers, or you’ll be in for a big mess! Be aware, those pillows hold a lot more stuffing than you’d think – you can probably get 2 to 3 clouds out of each one.

Cut the pillow

Remove the pillow cover and cut open the internal stuffing liner. Remove the stuffing, being careful not to pull it apart too much as you do so. It will be easier to work with this way.

Form your Cloud

Separate your stuffing and loosely form your clouds to the general size and shape you want.

Wrap the cloud

Use your yarn or twine to wrap the stuffing and hold it in place. Make sure not to wrap too tightly to allow the cloud to retain a more natural shape. Finish your cloud by tying a knot.

Hang your cloud

Cut a piece of yarn or twine to your desired hanging length. Tie one end around your cloud yarn and secure the other end to the ceiling with a thumb tack.

Leave your clouds as is or play up the whimsical sky theme by adding glow in the dark stars or twinkle lights to the room.
