Halloween décor doesn’t have to cost a fortune. With a little creativity and a few thrifted finds from your local Goodwill NCW, you can make something both festive and budget-friendly. Instead of a traditional wreath, give your front door or wall a spooky twist with this DIY Spooky Wreath made from a repurposed picture frame.

This project is quick, fun, and customizable. Plus, you’ll be saving items from the landfill by giving them a second life!

DIY Spooky Wreath Project Steps

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • A thrifted frame from Goodwill NCW (any size you’d like)
  • Black acrylic paint and brush
  • E6000 glue
  • Cardboard (cut into two triangles to fit the frame corners)
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Halloween decorations (plastic spiders, faux webs, bats, skulls, mini pumpkins, etc.)
  • Ribbon (any color or pattern you love for Halloween)

01

Paint the frame

Start by giving your thrifted frame a spooky makeover with black paint. Let it dry completely.

02

Add corner backing

Cut two cardboard triangles to fit snugly into two corners of the frame. Use E6000 glue to secure them in place. These will give you a solid surface to attach your Halloween decorations.

03

Decorate the corners

Once the glue dries, use hot glue to attach your chosen Halloween décor to the cardboard corners. Layer spiders, bats, faux cobwebs, or anything else that gives you the creeps.

04

Add the ribbon

Cut a piece of ribbon to your desired length and hot glue it to the top back of the frame to create a loop for hanging.

05

Display

Hang your spooky wreath on a wall or door to instantly add festive Halloween vibes.

Make It Your Own

The best part about this project is that no two wreaths will look the same. Whether you love a creepy-crawly spider theme, classic pumpkins and bats, or a more gothic skull look, you can make this wreath completely your own with affordable thrifted finds from Goodwill NCW.

So stop in, grab a frame, and let your imagination run wild. Your DIY Spooky Wreath will be the perfect conversation starter for trick-or-treaters and Halloween party guests!
