Bankruptcy Pre-Discharge Education

If you have explored other options and have decided to proceed with filing for bankruptcy, you will receive a bankruptcy case number from your attorney and you must complete an approved Bankruptcy Pre-Discharge Education course.
You have the choice of attending an in-person, telephone, or online Bankruptcy Pre-Discharge course. You will need your bankruptcy case number to sign-up for or complete the online course.

You must spend a minimum of two hours on the education course to receive a Certificate of Completion. We have an obligation to promptly give you a Certificate of Completion, only after you complete the session, within one business days of completion of the course. Certificates will not be issued if this time requirement is not met.

Our financial counselor will review our disclosure with you before we get personal information from you or giving you financial counseling services.

We charge a fee of $0-$25 per person which includes the generation of the certificate.

The fee will be waived if your current income is less than 150 percent of the poverty guidelines updated periodically in the Federal Register by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the authority of 42 U.S.C. 9902(2), as adjusted from time to time, for a household or family of the size involved in the fee determination. Please ask us if you have questions about these income levels. No one is turned away if they cannot afford to pay. Please call 1-800-366-8161 or 920-886-1000 about eligibility.
