Special night of dueling pianos set to support the league

MENASHA, WI – Registration is now open for the Miracle League of the Fox Valley, a program of Goodwill North Central Wisconsin (Goodwill NCW) that offers individuals ages four to nineteen with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball in an organized, non-competitive league on a safe, accessible baseball field. John Wollner Fox Cities Miracle Field in Appleton was newly renovated last year and is set for the 15th season of the Miracle League of Fox Valley.

The season is eight weeks long, beginning in June. Throughout the season, players are paired with community volunteers who assist and encourage them during the games. Volunteer pitchers, umpires, announcers, coaches and team helpers also are needed. The public is invited to attend the games as supportive fans.

“Giving kids with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball is why we do it,” Jennifer Haberman Program Leader for Miracle League Fox Valley said. “The smiles that come from the players and even the volunteers are amazing. I just love the enjoyment you can see on everyone’s face. If you come out to watch a game, I guarantee you will have a smile too! Truly an unforgettable experience for all.”
Players and volunteers can register online, starting February 1. Registration ends March 31.

In addition to supporting the teams at games, the community has the opportunity to contribute to the success of the Miracle League of the Fox Valley by attending or sponsoring a Dueling Piano Fundraising Event. Current supporters, local businesses and the general public are invited to the event at the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers The Fox Club on March 29. Doors will open at 5:30 pm, with Dueling Piano’s performing from 7-10 p.m.
